Salutem Care and Education has always been committed to providing high-quality care and support to children and young people. Our mission is to create a nurturing and safe environment where every child can thrive.

We believe in a bespoke approach, working closely with other organisations to tailor our services to the unique needs of each child. This philosophy is at the heart of our new initiatives, which involve groundbreaking partnerships with Innovating Minds, Reform Restore Respect, Living Legacy Learning, and Beyond the Binary. These collaborations are set to revolutionise the way we provide care, support, and education to our children and young people.

Innovating Minds: Healing Together

Our partnership with Innovating Minds marks a significant milestone in our journey towards trauma-informed care. Innovating Minds is a community interest company dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for children and young people. Through their Healing Together programme, our colleagues will receive comprehensive training to become experts in understanding and supporting children who have experienced trauma.

The goal of this partnership is to foster a warm, loving environment in our services. By understanding the nuances of childhood trauma and employing effective intervention strategies, we aim to transform the lives of children who have faced significant challenges. Our commitment to trauma-informed care underscores our dedication to the well-being of every child, ensuring they can heal and flourish.

Reform Restore Respect: Enhancing Protection Strategies

We are thrilled to collaborate with Francis from the Reform Restore Respect Charity. Francis brings over 24 years of expertise in gangs, county lines exploitation, urban street language, and the criminal justice system. His extensive experience in Health and Social Care Management, combined with his deep understanding of CQC and Ofsted services, makes him an invaluable asset to our Children and Young People Division.

Francis’s vision aligns perfectly with our mission to empower and protect the children and young people we support. Through bespoke training and safeguarding knowledge, he will enhance our support and protection strategies. Francis’s firsthand insights into the complexities of gang culture and exploitation will enable our colleagues to better navigate these challenges, ensuring the safety and well-being of our children.

Living Legacy Learning: Empowering Through Emotional Support

Salutem Care and Education is excited to team up with Rachel W from Living Legacy Learning, alongside Honey, an extraordinary Emotional Support Assistance Dog and Co-Founder. Rachel brings over 30 years of professional expertise as a Residential Social Worker, Foster Carer, and in pastoral roles within schools. Honey, with five years of dedicated service supporting children’s mental health, is an essential part of this partnership.

Rachel and Honey will provide tailored training workshops designed to challenge perspectives and enhance our connection with children and young people. Their unique approach emphasises the importance of emotional support, understanding, and empowerment. By creating an environment where everyone feels heard and valued, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and self-worth in our children.

The workshops will focus on building strong, empathetic relationships with the children in our care. Rachel’s extensive experience and Honey’s calming presence will help our colleagues develop the skills needed to support children’s emotional well-being effectively. This partnership highlights our commitment to innovative, holistic approaches to care that address the emotional and mental health needs of our children.

Beyond the Binary: Fostering Inclusivity and Self-Discovery

Inclusivity is a core value at Salutem Care and Education, and our collaboration with Beyond the Binary underscores this commitment. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture that supports children in understanding and embracing their true selves. This partnership aims to challenge conventional thinking, language, and narratives, creating a safe and affirming environment for all children.

Alex from Beyond the Binary will work with us as an LGBTQIA+ consultant to help cultivate an authentic and inclusive culture. Alex’s expertise will guide our teams in providing positive self-discovery experiences for children, addressing the critical issue of declining mental health among LGBTQIA+ youth. By bridging gaps and promoting acceptance, we strive to create a supportive environment where every child can thrive.

Celebrating Carers Week: Recognising the Unsung Heroes of Our Communities

Carers Week is an annual campaign that shines a light on the incredible work of unpaid carers across the country. These dedicated individuals provide essential support to family members, friends, and neighbours living with disabilities, chronic illnesses, mental health conditions, or age-related frailty. This week is all about recognising their hard work, raising awareness of their challenges, and highlighting the support they need.
