Supporting Individuals with Austism

Our Dedication

At Salutem Care and Education, we understand the multifaceted nature of Autism and its spectrum of presentations. We recognise that each individual with Autism brings a unique set of strengths, needs, and aspirations. Our commitment lies in allowing an environment that not only understands these unique characteristics but also champions them.

Holistic Approach to Autism

Autism, being a spectrum, means no two individuals will have the same experiences or needs. We provide a comprehensive range of services tailored to the individual, ensuring their cognitive, emotional, social, and physical well-being is catered to.

Our Autism Practice Group

Central to our approach is the Autism Practice Group – a specialised team that meets monthly to discuss, strategies, and innovate the best ways to support those with Autism. Comprising experts with years of experience and a passion for understanding Autism, this group ensures Salutem remains at the forefront of best practices and methodologies. Their monthly meetings allow for constant evaluation and updating of our strategies, guaranteeing our support mechanisms are both contemporary and effective.

Individualised Support Pathways

Every individual with Autism has a distinct learning and communication style. We focus on understanding this uniqueness and crafting personalised support pathways. Whether it’s through visual aids, sensory tools, or tailored communication techniques, we adapt to ensure each individual feels understood, valued, and empowered.

Safe and Inclusive Environments

All our facilities, from educational establishments to living environments, are designed keeping in mind the sensory sensitivities and preferences that individuals with Autism might have. Calm, structured, and predictable settings ensure comfort, while our inclusive ethos ensures everyone feels a sense of belonging.

Dedicated and Trained Staff

Our staff undergo training to understand the diverse needs of those with Autism, including Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training. Their continuous learning, backed by insights from our Autism Practice Group, ensures that they are equipped to offer compassionate, informed, and effective support at all times.

Building Skills for Tomorrow

Beyond immediate support, we focus on equipping individuals with Autism with skills for the future. Be it social skills, independent living skills, or vocational training, our goal is to ensure every individual can lead a fulfilling life in the wider community.

Salutem Care and Education is unwavering in its commitment to supporting individuals with Autism. With our specialised teams, dedicated resources, and a holistic approach, we aim to provide an environment where every individual with Autism can thrive.

"The best thing to happen to my son was he went to live at Grizedale. It changed his whole life because it is a small home with very caring people looking after him, staff now exactly how to support him, and it is done with warmth, care and love and how much he had improved in every possible way, his life has been transformed, he has learnt to mix with other people and now has friends."

Everyone was so positive and welcoming. I am so grateful for all the exceptional care and support given to her by all the lovely staff. They are all so skilled. I always had every confidence in every aspect of her care, and she was very happy there."
